Are Celebrities Missing The Boat By Not Using Wikipedia Commons?
Being a Celebrity Blogger, I’ve often wondered why Celebs don’t take advantage of the Free Public Image sources on the web like Wikipedia Commons.
I understand that the Perez Hilton’s and TMZ’s can afford to purchase expensive paparazzi pics but what about the thousands of beginner bloggers just starting out who can’t?
I’ve used Wikipedia for many pics and noticed that many free Celeb images either don’t exist or are terrible pictures like the Brooke Hogan Pic, below!

I would think Celebs would want a good promotion pic that Bloggers could show when they do a story on the Celeb.
How many times do you hear Celebs complaining about magazine’s and websites using unflattering pictures of them? If they submitted their own pic – It would be hundreds of times more likely that Bloggers would do a story on them thereby getting more publicity and at the same time the Celeb’s are happy with the pics!
How about new Celebs who are craving for publicity and want to get their name in the public? They should be sendiing Wikipedia tons of free pics.
Kim Kardashian is an example of a Celeb who does a good job promoting herself on Wikipedia!

I run across stories all the time about some semi-celeb and have no idea who they are and after a Wikipedia search I find info on them but no pic!
In the Celebrity Blogging world… No Pic equals No story.
Just wondering…what do you other Celeb Bloggers think?

I agree, Daddyoh! When I first started my Blog I used Wiki’s pix all the time while guys like Perez Hilton was not paying for the pics.. (I guess that’s why they sued him)
Many Celebs don’t take advantage of the web like Kazarian, Tila Tequila etc.
